AMMN – Copper smelter starts to operate in 4Q24 Amman Mineral International (AMMN) through its subsidiary, Amman Mineral Industri, encourages the completion of the copper smelter project with an input capacity of 900 ktpa from the Batu Hijau mine and the Elang mine located in West Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara. The products that will be produced from the smelter are 222 ktpa copper cathode and 830 ktpa sulfuric acid. As of May 2024, the progress of smelter construction has reached 95.5% and has completed physical and mechanical construction. The 4.5% progress that will be continued is the commissioning process, which has started since June 1, 2024 and targeted to be completed in 4-5 months. The production of the first copper cathode is targeted to run in 4Q24. Note that, AMMN allocates a capex of USD2.01 bn in 2024. (Source : Kontan)
