PGEO - Lahendong geothermal project adds 50MW capacity

18 December 2025

PGEO - Lahendong geothermal project adds 50MW capacity Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGEO) has submitted technical documents to PLN for Lahendong Units 7 and 8 (2×20 MW) along with a 10 MW Binary Unit, a crucial step toward securing an Electricity Purchase Agreement (PJB) under the renewable energy (EBT) scheme. The project builds on PGE’s long-standing operations in Lahendong since 2016 and supports Indonesia’s energy transition, with the additional capacity potentially increasing PGEO’s contribution to North Sulawesi’s electricity supply from around 30% to 35-40%. Looking ahead, PGEO targets 1 GW of installed capacity within the next 2-3 years and 1.8 GW by 2033, on top of its current 727 MW installed capacity and ongoing projects across Indonesia.
