BBNI - To opens a branch in Sydney, Australia This year, Bank Negara Indonesia (BBNI), will open a branch office in Australia. According to the bank, it have been approved to open the branch (office) in Sydney, which in the near future will be executed. BBNI’s President Director, Royke Tumilaar explained that BNI's efforts had received approval from the 'Kangaroo Country' banking authority, namely the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), on May 27, 2024. He explained that there are three targets for BBNI to expand in Australia, one of which is to help the Indonesian diaspora that lives in that country. "To provide bilateral credit, more and more Indonesian companies will be able to react to Australia and also to help the diaspora, and we are also making efforts to socialize diaspora saving through BNI mobile banking," explained Royke. In his presentation, Royke said that the BNI Branch Office in Australia would be located in the Salesforce Tower, which is a Sydney landmark. BNI is also the first Indonesian bank to be approved by APRA. Worth to note that BBNI does have various branches abroad, starting from Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Osaka (Japan), New York (United States), Seoul (South Korea), and London (England).
