BTN's Director of Risk Management, Setiyo Wibowo, explained that there are three main strategies implemented by the company to maintain healthy credit quality. BTN is now more selective in processing credit applications to ensure they align with the risk profiles of both existing and potential customers. Secondly, from a process perspective, BTN has implemented a centralised loan factory system supported by technology-based automation. Banks are utilising artificial intelligence (AI) and decision engines with scoring models to standardise the credit approval process. Lastly, strengthening is being done on the collection side. BTN now implements a centralised collection system, including the use of GPS trackers to monitor the productivity of the collection team. (Source : Kontan)
