PGEO – Exploring new opportunities in 3 countries Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGEO) is exploring and evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities for the Sirius project in North Sumatra and in 3 other countries, namely Kenya, Ethiopia and Turkiye to develop geothermal business. This is in line with the development of the renewable energy sector and encourages Indonesia to become a Global Geothermal Power House. The Ministry of SOEs through Pertamina also encourages PGEO to consolidate the potential of new renewable energy in Indonesia, especially geothermal with a potential of 24 GW. Previously, PGEO was adding installed capacity in Lumut Balai Unit 2, Hululais Unit 1 &2 and Lehendong Unit 7 &8. PGEO has plans to develop the potential of Seulawah Agam with PEMA Aceh and develop the potential of Kotamobago and Way Rata with Chevron and Mubadala. (Source: Investor Daily)
