TLKM - Officially launches Merah Putih 2

TLKM - Officially launches Merah Putih 2 Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLKM) through its subsidiary, Telkomsat has officially launched high throughput satellite (HTS), Merah Putih 2, aimed at covering the frontier, outermost and remote (3T) areas. The satellite, valued at IDR3.5tn is also set to be the first broadband satellite. Meanwhile, the company has operated a total capacity of 250Gbps in its satellite portfolio. (Source: Kontan) Comment: TLKM is the only telecommunications company that operates satellite communications under its belt, signifying its role as an agent of change. Currently, Telkomsat has operated three satellites covering over 720K customers, including Merah Putih, Telkom 3S, and MySat, while gearing up for two more satellites including Telkomsat-1 and Telkomsat-1 both will be placed in the east side of longitude. The launch of Merah Putih 2 is also aimed to cater growing demand from corporate segment, especially those with below 25MBps bandwidth.
