TLKM - Telkomsel aims to retain 2G network Mobile arm of Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLKM), Telkomsel aims to maintain its 2G network for quite some time, due to significant portion of its customers that still on unsupported devices. The move comes in opposite with other MNOs strategy to switch off the legacy network and ramp up its 4G, enabling Volte technology. (Source : Cnbc Indonesia) Comment : Among MNOs, Telkomsel has the most significant customers on its legacy network with over 20% on the back of unsupported devices for mobile as well as EDCs. TLKM could be disadvantaged by higher legacy customers that often drags down its topline growth.
