TPIA - To support government efforts on renewable energy Chandra Asri Petrochemicals (TPIA) via its subsidiary, Krakatau Daya Listrik (KDL) plans to build a floating solar power plant (SPP) in Krenceng Cilegon Reservoir, Banten. This project will be divided into two phases, the first phase, with a capacity of 9.6 Megawatt Peak (MWp) and the second phase 22.4 MWp, bringing the total to 32 MWp. TPIA targets the phase one to be completed by the end of 2024 and phase two to be completed in 2025. TPIA stated that the company is supporting the government efforts to decarbonize and to achieve its renewable energy target. TPIA also stated that the investment needed for this floating SPP is around USD1 mn per MWp, which made the total investment needed for this project is around USD30 mn. Moreover, TPIA is committed to use as many as possible domestic components, such as a floater solar panel with 100% plastic polymer High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) that has high domestic component and produced by TPIA.
