ANTM – Budi Said became a suspect in ANTM' gold trading case Aneka Tambang' (ANTM) case on gold trading manipulation, the prosecutors has stated that Budi Said, a Surabaya-based property entrepreneur, as a suspect since January 18, 2024 due to the discovery of conclusive evidence by the prosecutors. This led to his subsequent detention and a 20-day investigation at Kejagung's Salemba branch. The alleged fraudulent transactions involving Budi Said and others occurred between March and November 2018. Suspected of conspiring to manipulate gold trading by setting prices below Antam's price, the perpetrators operated outside ANTM's mechanisms, that prevented proper monitoring. Allegedly, fake documents were created, causing a significant discrepancy between the amount paid and the value of precious metals handed over by ANTM, despite no discounts being applied at that time.
