Automotive - Car sales transactions at GIIAS 2024 will increase by 27% The Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) reported that sales transactions during the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) exhibition increased by 27%. This achievement is an accumulation of 11 days of this exhibition being held, namely 18–28 July 2024, compared to the previous year, which was held on 10–20 August 2024. This indicates that automotive exhibitions in Indonesia are currently still the driving force for the motor vehicle industry, especially in terms of sales. Furthermore, it was reported that the volume of vehicles sold during GIIAS 2024 reached 34,887 units. This figure is a large one considering that monthly sales average only 50,000–60,000 units. However, in terms of total visitors, the increase was not that significant, namely only growing 4 percent from 462,291 visitors to 475,084 visitors. In connection with this, total transactions in GIIAS 2024 increased 24 percent to IDR18.7 tn. Other things that contributed to this growth were the total exhibition area, which increased from 100,000 M2 to 120,000 M2, and the increasing number of automotive brands enlivening GIIAS 2024.
