INDF – Maintains competitive wheat sourcing in face of US tariffs Indofood Sukses Makmur (INDF) stated that the 19% tariff on Indonesian exports, while Indonesia committed to buying USD4,5 bn in U.S. agricultural products will have minimal impact as it sources wheat competitively from ~20 countries, including the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Ukraine, China, etc. Indonesia has averaged 500k tons/18,4 mn bushels of U.S. what imports over the last five years, with 792k tons/29,1 mn bushels delivered in 2024/25 marketing year. On 7 Jul’25, APTINDO signed an MoU with U.S. Wheat Associates to purchase 800k tons /29,4 mn bushels in 2025, rising 25% to 1 mn tons/36,7 mn bushels annually through 2030, valued at USD250 mn/year. The deal follows the Jun’25 resolution of SPS import protocols after 18 months of coordination. Indofood, which has been importing U.S. wheat since 1969 views this as an opportunity to enhance supply security and price competitiveness. (Source : Cnbc Indonesia)
