PGEO – In the process of building PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 2
PGEO – In the process of building PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 2 Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGEO) is constructing PLTP Lumut Balai Unit 2 in Muara Enim, South Sumatra, set for completion by December 2024. With progress currently at 23% and targeting 29% by year-end, the project aims for a 1 Gigawatt (GW) capacity, utilizing Indonesia's untapped Geothermal Working Areas (WKPs) for 270 Megawatts, with 150 Megawatts proven. The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 4×55 Megawatts aligns with national energy goals. This project, expected to be operational by 2024, holds the potential to cut emissions by up to 581,784 tons of CO2 equivalent annually. PGEO is also developing additional geothermal projects to achieve its 1 GW target, including Hululais (Units 1 and 2) totaling 110 MW and optimizing binary technology in existing areas. (Source: CNBC)
