PTBA – Strengthen coal transportation with KAI
PTBA – Strengthen coal transportation with KAI Bukit Asam (PTBA) with Kereta Api Indonesia have signed short-term agreements to optimize coal transportation through railways. These agreements, covering the Tanjung Enim Baru-Tarahan and Tanjung Enim Baru-Kertapati routes for the 2023-2027 period and the framework for the Tanjung Enim Baru-Keramasan route, aim to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce externalities such as traffic congestion and pollution. The partnership leverages the capacity of railway transportation, which can carry larger loads compared to other modes, with a single train carrying the equivalent of approximately 120 trucks. This collaboration underscores the commitment of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to work together and align with regulatory requirements. It is expected to support PTBA's coal production growth and contribute to national energy security. (Source : Investor Daily)
