ICBP – Positioned to benefit from trump tariffs

22 July 2025

ICBP – Positioned to benefit from trump tariffs Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur (ICBP) is seen as a potential beneficiary of the U.S. import tariff cut on wheat, from 32% to 19% under Trump’s trade policy. As a part of a long-term plan, Asosiasi Produsen Tepung Terigu Indonesia (Aptindo) is committed to importing 1 million tons of U.S. wheat annually, worth USD250 mn through 2030, potentially leading to lower flour prices and cost efficiencies for ICBP, which holds roughly 70% of the instant noodle market. The what import deal is not expected to pose any particular risks to ICBP’s operations, yet it may support lower input costs and allow for further export growth beyond the U.S, particularly into BRICS, CPTPP, and IEU-CEPA countries.
