TLKM - To roll out undersea cable in Northern Papua

TLKM - To roll out undersea cable in Northern Papua Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLKM) is planning to roll out under submarine cable network namely Patara-2 in partnership with Japanese corporation, NEC Group. The installation of the undersea cable (SKKL) that stretches 1,200 km across Waisai, Manokwari and Supiori is meant to strengthen data network especially in Northern Papua, while protecting all of the company's service in the region. (Source : Kontan) Comment : The installation of infrastructure including submarine cables is crucial to ensure smooth data connectivity, allowing TLKM to deliver huge data capacity in a rapid manner. This will improve TLKM’s service excellence which supports its strong position in Papua region. Indonesia's Subsea Communication Association (Askalsi) reported a 30% increase of capacity demand in 2Q23, indicating massive growth of digital adoption.
